Working with public relations and marketing professionals can often be a hit or miss experience. As the editor of several packaging industry trade publications, I am never certain what to expect from these individuals and how much follow-up will be necessary to get what I need in order to write feature and news stories. Denise Hearden is a refreshing change. She never disappoints me. She is thorough, accurate, articulate, personable and always professional.

I met Denise almost 15 years ago at one of her client’s facilities. Denise arranged my visit so that I could write an article for the monthly magazine that I was editor of at the time. I remember being impressed with Denise’s work ethic. She was attentive to every detail, making sure that I had what I needed to do my job. Since then, Denise has helped me with several writing assignments. My most recent endeavor  — for the July issue — involved interviews with industry associates from five different companies as well as background research and ideas for artwork. Denise was a great help, providing me with both contact and background information.

Two qualities that stand out about Denise are her honesty and accessibility. In addition to the monthly publications, I also write for a weekly newsletter where lead times are short and deadlines are frequent. I don’t have the luxury of waiting a week for someone to get back to me. Denise responds almost immediately to my inquiries and gets me what I need in time to meet my deadlines. If she doesn’t have what I am looking for, she is up front about it and scrambles to connect me with another source. It is a genuine pleasure to work with her.
